Company Director Biography

Espirito Santo started dance, singing and acting at age 5 in S. Miguel Azores. She was trained in Ballet, improvisation, folk dance, theatre, performance, gymnastics, and martial arts, performing throughout her childhood and teenage years. She was in a dance company from age 14 to 17. At age 18 moved to Canada. Dance was then put on hold to raise her 3 children. At age 34 she enrolled in a full time dance training school " Main Dance" in Vancouver for 3 years. Since then she has been fully involved in the dance and performing world for the past 11 years.

Espirito has dedicated most of her adult training to Laban Barttenief, butoh, modern dance, contact improvisation, and Voice at UBC and yoga through Prana Yoga College and Mysore Mandala in India. She has performed in Canad,a Us, Europe and India. She formed a group called "Jie Delights" has worked with local dance companies such as kokoro Dance, Edam, Helen Walkley, 2000 women solos, Snafu, Public Dreams, Anu Love 6, Deja Vu, New Moon Festival, Machinenoisy, and Frindge Vancouver and Victoria.
